Bert S. Braud is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (B.A., English, 1981), and the University of Kansas School of Law (J.D. 1984). He began working at The Popham Law Firm immediately after graduating from law school, and has worked there ever since.

Bert has specialized in trial practice his entire career, and has focused on Employment Discrimination Litigation in the last 15 years; it now makes up almost 100% of his practice. He is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, and their local Kansas City Chapter. This affiliation provides him access to the leading experts around the country in Employment Law, and allows him to stay current in this complex and changing area of practice. This area of the law requires constant attention to new developments.

Bert is recognized in the Kansas City area as someone knowledgeable and experienced in this field, and has a rating with Martindale-Hubbell of AV. The Martindale-Hubbell AV Rating indicates very high to pre-eminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by confidential opinions from members of the Bar. He is a frequent speaker at seminars for both lawyers and human resources personnel on topics such as Employment Law Litigation and Trial Practice.

In his career, Bert has tried over 40 cases to a jury verdict, including one that resulted in a verdict over $1,000,000.00. He also participated in a non-jury trial that resulted in a verdict over $1,000,000.00. Recently, he was co-counsel in a race discrimination class action that resulted in a settlement of $6,750,000.00.

Bert is married and has two children. His hobbies include golf, weight training, and music -- he plays guitar and bass in a local band.
