Get to know Mark

Mark Schloegel is a Kansas City injury trial lawyer who steps in when everything has gone wrong and you need someone to fight back. For more than 15 years, he has taken on powerful defendants, won millions of dollars for injured people and their families, and helped clients rebuild after life-changing injuries, crashes, abuse, corporate misconduct, and medical errors.

Who Mark Represents
Mark represents individuals and families in high-stakes cases involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, truck and car crashes, motorcycle and bike crashes, medical errors, nursing home abuse, sexual assault, hotel and premises negligence, defective products, class actions, consumer protection claims, and on-the-job injuries, including workers’ compensation. As an injury lawyer at Popham Injury Law, he focuses on cases with real human and social impact—clients who have been ignored, discounted, or mistreated by companies and wrongdoers.

How Mark Works with Clients
Clients describe Mark as steady, honest, and easy to talk to, the kind of lawyer who calls you back, explains the process in plain English, and makes a bad situation feel manageable. He is known in the firm for his work ethic, trial readiness, and willingness to take on difficult cases that other lawyers pass on, and his results reflect that approach.

Roots in Kansas City
A Kansas City native, Mark graduated from Rockhurst High School and went on to play basketball at Benedictine College before transferring to the University of Missouri to earn his finance degree. He then attended the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, clerked for Judge Tom Clark in Jackson County, and joined Popham Injury Law in Kansas City, becoming a partner in 2014.

Experience and Credentials
Mark has been licensed for approximately 20 years and practices in Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado, giving his clients flexibility when their cases cross state lines. His background in finance, trial practice, and complex injury litigation helps him understand how an injury case affects not only a client’s health, but their long-term financial security and family stability.

Community and Life Outside the Office
Away from the courtroom, Mark is active in Kansas City’s cycling community and serves on the Board of Directors for Urban Trail Co., working to build and protect local trails. He and his wife, Micah, are raising four children—Romi, Liz, Lola, and Duke—in Kansas City, and when he is not with his family or in trial, he is usually on a bike or outside somewhere on a trail.

Why Injured People Choose Mark
People hire Mark when they want a lawyer who will actually try their case if that is what it takes, not just push for a quick settlement. Backed by a century-old plaintiffs’ firm focused on personal injury and civil rights, Mark combines the resources of Popham Injury Law with a personal, one-on-one style that makes clients feel heard, prepared, and protected from the first meeting through trial or settlement.
